We’re bringing the library to you!
Our Mission:
The Bookmobile is an extension of the McDowell County Public Library. It serves as a traveling neighborhood library providing materials and timely personal services to communities, neighborhoods, and individuals.
What does the bookmobile offer?
| • Recently published fiction books, DVDs, and audiobooks | • Large-print fiction |
| • Spanish/Bilingual books | • Nonfiction (adult and juvenile) |
| • Picture books, easy readers, and juvenile fiction books | • Free Wi-Fi |
| • Young adult fiction books | • Donations (for patrons without library cards) |
Bookmobile Craft:
The Bookmobile staff provide a free craft at the local YMCA (348 Grace Corpening Dr., Marion, NC) on the first Monday of each month. This program is available to everyone!
***You do not have to be a member at the YMCA.***
- Monthly Craft:
- First Monday of each month, 10AM-12PM, YMCA Multipurpose Room
- Every month we provide a free craft for adults!
- All skill levels welcome. All materials provided.
What kinds of places does the Bookmobile go to?
The Bookmobile regularly visits a variety of locations including (but not limited to):
- Daycares/Preschools
- Schools
- Retirement communities
- Athletic facilities
- Local festivals/events
- Apartment complexes
- And neighborhoods all around McDowell County!
What if I don’t have a library card?
We can sign you up on the spot so you can get access to all of these resources!
