Local History Club

On October 2, 1929 one of McDowell County’s most historic events occurred at Marion Manufacturing.
The event, caused by earlier strikes, left a profound impact on the community, one that is rarely discussed nearly 100 years later.
Trivia Night

Put your knowledge to the test at Trivia Night! Teams of 2-5 are invited to compete in a variety of challenging questions.
This event is geared toward teens and adults, but families are welcome.
Don’t worry about dinner-we’ve got you covered!

The Bookmobile will be at the Marion Tailgate Market this Saturday!
The Tailgate Market is a community event that happens every Saturday from May to October.
You’ll find seasonal produce, pasture-raised meats, fresh eggs, baked goods, handmade items, and more.
Culturas Unidas Festival

The Bookmobile will attending the 2026 Culturas Unidas Festival!
Culturas Unidas brings together families, organizations, artists, performers, and community leaders for a day of cultural exchange, education, food, music, and celebration.
Each year, we strive to create an event where people can learn from one another, build connections, and celebrate the richness of our multicultural community.
Hungry Caterpillar Day
Saturday, September 19 | 10:00 AM | 632 College Dr, Marion
Barefoot Baby will host the Kid Zone during MTA’s Family Day with a bug themed story trail.
Families will move along the trail with visual story elements, themed activities, and simple snacks along the way.
Kids are encouraged to dress as bugs or butterflies for a playful, imaginative experience centered on movement, storytelling, and time outdoors.
