The Friends of the McDowell County Public Library is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization committed to furthering the excellence of the McDowell County Public Library System and promoting literacy and lifelong learning.
Overall, the McDowell County Public Library System receives a generous amount of support from the McDowell County Friends of the Library. Through their fundraising efforts, the library is able to offer wide variety of educational and hands-on programming for children, teens, and adults. They are also the chief sponsor of our annual literacy festival, the Summer Reading Program. In addition to these contributions, many capital improvements to both the Marion Library and Old Fort Library are due to their efforts.
If you wish to make a financial contribution, the Friends are accepting donations at either the Marion or Old Fort Library locations. As a reminder, any contribution you wish to make is tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law.
To see how you can help support the Friends of the Library, please stop by either library location to pick up a membership application.
