There will NO Preschool Storytime the weeks of December 18th and December 25th.

Crafts for Little Hands
Monday, December 11 at 11:00am – Marion Library
Wednesday, December 13 at 11:00am – Old Fort Branch Library
Every second Monday and Wednesday, preschool-aged children are invited to craft at the library. Dress for a mess because we will be using glue, scissors, paints, paper, markers, crayons and much more! Targeted age group 3- to 5-year old, but all are welcome.

Mammals of WNC
Wednesday, December 6 at 4pm – Marion Library
Join us for an educational program with the North Carolina Arboretum to learn all about the many different types of mammals that call Western North Carolina their home! Come ready to hear about the ecoEXPLORE program, find out what makes a mammal a mammal, how different types of mammals survive through the winter, where they live, what they eat, plus much more!

The Studio
Wednesday, December 13 at 4pm – Marion Library
The Studio is an Art program for students in Kindergarten through 5th grade. Students will learn about art using different creation techniques and art mediums.

Holiday Photos
Saturday, December 2 at 12 p.m. until 4:30 p.m. – Old Fort Library
The Old Fort Library is hosting FREE Holiday Photos. Sign up is required to schedule a 10-minute session where we will snap a few photos of your family. Families will receive their photos via email. To register, call the Old Fort Library at 828-668-7111, or stop by the Circulation Desk.

The McDowell County Public Library have Literacy Bookbags available for checkout at the Marion and Old Fort libraries at the Children’s Circulation Desk. The purpose of the Literacy Bookbags is to help families get involved in improving their child’s literacy skills and provide families with the tools to help them become their child’s first teacher.
What’s Included:
- (4) Curated Storytime books based on a theme
- Literacy tips
- Fun learning activities to allow for communication between parent and child
- Colorings pages
- And songs (that can be used along with scarves and egg shakers)
