Crafts for Little Hands
Monday, April 8 at 11:00am – Marion Library
Wednesday, April 10 at 11:00am – Old Fort Branch Library
Every second Monday and Wednesday, preschool-aged children are invited to craft at the library. Dress for a mess because we will be using glue, scissors, paints, paper, markers, crayons and much more! Targeted age group 3- to 5-year old, but all are welcome.
Una vez al mes después de la Hora de Cuentos, los niños de edad preescolar están invitados a hacer manualidades en la biblioteca. Traigan vestimiento que se pueda ensuciar porque usaremos pegamento, tijeras, pinturas, papel, marcadores, crayones y mucho más! Grupo de edad preferible para los Niños de edad 3 a 5 años, pero todos son bienvenidos.
Circle of Parents Facilitated by Amanda Tippey
Monday mornings following story time at the Marion Public Library. Enjoy refreshments, coffee, conversation with other parents, and support during this season of parenting!

The Amazing World of Plants presented by EcoExplore
Tuesday, April 2 at 4pm -Old Fort Library
Join us for an educational program with the North Carolina Arboretum to learn all about the many different plants that call Western North Carolina their home! Come ready to hear about the ecoEXPLORE program, find out what makes a plant a plant, how plants make their own food, where different plants can be found, plus much more!

The Studio- String Pulling Art
Wednesday, April 17 at 4pm – Marion Library
The Studio is an Art program for students in Kindergarten through 5th grade. Students will learn about art using different creation techniques and art mediums. This month students will use yarn, paint, and paper to make a flower design.

The McDowell County Public Library have Literacy Bookbags available for checkout at the Marion and Old Fort libraries at the Children’s Circulation Desk. The purpose of the Literacy Bookbags is to help families get involved in improving their child’s literacy skills and provide families with the tools to help them become their child’s first teacher.
What’s Included:
- (4) Curated Storytime books based on a theme
- Literacy tips
- Fun learning activities to allow for communication between parent and child
- Colorings pages
- And songs (that can be used along with scarves and egg shakers)
