Paint a Pumpkin @ the Marion Branch Library

Looking for a one of a kind centerpiece for your festive family dinner? Come to the library to paint a perfect pumpkin decoration to be used year after year. Supplies are limited, so get here early!

1st Annual ‘How the Grinch Stole Christmas’ Party @ the Marion Branch Library

Join us for a wonderfully terrible celebration of all things Grinch! We will be reading the classic tale, crafting, and sharing a variety of Grinch-themed snacks. Trust us – you won’t want to miss this party!

Picture books, songs, felt board stories, action rhymes, and fun for preschoolers and their families. Targeted age group 3- to 5-year olds, but all are welcome.

Crafts for Little Hands

Marion Library – 2nd Monday of the month, 11-11:30am
Old Fort Library – 2nd Tuesday of the month, 11-11:30am
Once a month after Story Time, preschool-aged children are invited to craft at the library. Dress for a mess because we will be using glue, scissors, paints, paper, markers, crayons and much more! Targeted age group 3- to 5-year olds, but all are welcome.

Kids Yoga @ the Marion Branch Library

Tuesday, December 5th from 5:30-6:30
Yoga instructor RaeLeigh Burneisen will teach us the principles of yoga and a basic routine to get everyone on the path to a better body and mind. For children ages 7 to 11.

The Lab: Build a Gingerbread House

Marion Library – 1st Wednesday of the month, December 4th, 4:00-5:00
Old Fort Library – 2nd Wednesday of the month, December 13th, 3:30-4:30
Join us in The Lab as we build and conduct interesting experiments. This month: Test your engineering skills by building a gingerbread house. For school-age children, ages 5+.

The Studio: Decorate Glass Ornaments

Marion Library – 3rd Wednesday of the month, December 20th, 4:00-5:00
Try your hand at different art techniques in The Studio.  This month: Create your own unique glass ornaments. For school-age children, ages 5+.

LEGO© challenges, board games, crafts, and outdoor fun! For school-age children, ages 5+.

Paws for Reading
Registration Required

Dogs are great listeners!  Each week we will have a certified therapy dog at the library.  Children are invited to read to this friendly dog to practice their reading skills without feeling self-conscious while reading to an adult.  Sign up for an appointment at the circulation desk.
