Kid’s Program & Events
Due to flooding in the lower level of the Marion Branch, some children’s programs have been suspended until further notice.
Preschool and elementary school age children must be accompanied by an adult while in the library.
Marion Library – Mondays at 10:30-11am
Old Fort Library – Tuesdays at 10:30-11am
Picture books, songs, felt board stories, action rhymes, and fun for preschoolers and their families. Targeted age group 3- to 5-year olds, but all are welcome.
Crafts for Little Hands
Marion Library – 2nd Monday of the month, 11-11:30am (suspended for the month of Sept.)
Old Fort Library – 2nd Tuesday of the month, 11-11:30am
Once a month after Story Time, preschool-aged children are invited to craft at the library. Dress for a mess because we will be using glue, scissors, paints, paper, markers, crayons and much more! Targeted age group 3- to 5-year olds, but all are welcome.
Marion Library – Thursdays at 4-5pm
Old Fort Library – Wednesdays at 3:30-4:30pm
LEGO© challenges, board games, crafts, and outdoor fun! For school-age children, ages 5+.
Paws for Reading
Marion Library – Thursdays at 4:30-5:30pm (suspended until further notice)
Old Fort Library – Thursdays at 4:30-5:30pm
Dogs are great listeners! Each week we will have a certified therapy dog at the library. Children are invited to read to this friendly dog to practice their reading skills without feeling self-conscious while reading to an adult. Sign up for an appointment at the circulation desk.
